1915 E145 Cracker Jack #167 Clark Griffith - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,644

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Only four examples have ever been graded higher by PSA. Perfectly centered factory-set fresh card of Hall of Famer Clark Griffith from the popular 1915 Cracker Jack series. While Cracker Jacks were issued one card per box, in 1915 the entire set of 176 cards could also be ordered direct from the factory by mail in exchange for 100 coupons, or 1 coupon plus 25 cents. Cracker Jacks are universally regarded as one of the most classic and highly regarded baseball-card sets ever produced. This example is perfectly clean, both front and back, with four sharp corners, flawless registration, and boldly printed text on the reverse. There is a tiny spot of surface wear along the edge of Griffith's hairline which blends in with his hair, has no impact on the card's overall eye-appeal, and is mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy. Super high-grade Hall of Famer example from the classic 1915 Cracker Jack set. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $3,500. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,644
