1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC EX 60 Collection (81)

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $12,925

Collection of eighty-one different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated EX 60 by SGC (all submitted by REA). This is a very substantial high-grade collection of T206 White Borders, representing almost 15% of the set. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on the back unless otherwise noted. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. The collection consists of the following: Abbaticchio - brown, Adkins, Ames - hands at chest, Ames - hands above head (Tolstoi back), Barger (El Principe De Gales back), Barry - Phila., Barry - Mil., Bates, Beaumont, Bescher - port., Birmingham, Bradley - port., Bradley - bat, Bransfield, Burke, Byrne, Campbell (Sovereign back), Carr, Chase - holding trophy, Cravath, Criss, Cross, Dahlen - Boston, Davidson, Demmitt - NY, Dessau, Devlin, Donlin - seated, Donovan - port., Dougherty - arm in air, Dougherty - port., Doyle - bat, Elberfeld - fielding (Polar Bear back), Ewing, Fiene - throwing (Old Mill back), Freeman, Frill, Gray, Hall, Hallman, Hannifan, Hofman, Isbell, Jacklitsch (Sovereign back), Killian - port., Kisinger, Konetchy - glove ground, Kroh, Kruger (Sovereign back), Leach - port., Leifield - bat, Magee - port. (Sovereign back), Marshall, McBride, McGann, McQuillan - bat, Merkle - port., Merkle - throwing, Moran - Chicago, Mowrey, O'Hara - NY, O'Leary - knees, Owen, Parent, Payne, Powell, Reulbach - no glove, Schaeffer - Wash., Schulte - front, Schlei - catching (El Principe De Gales back), Scott, Seymour - bat, Seymour - port., Smith - F. Smith on front, Smith - Buffalo, Snodgrass - catching, Taylor, Thielman, White - pitching (Polar Bear back), White - Buffalo, and Wiltse - cap. This is a very impressive group that could serve as a substantial foundation for a high-quality T206 collection, or make a significant contribution to the completion of an extremely high quality set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. This is an unusually large collection of quality T206 cards in the same grade to be offered as a collection. PSA EX 5 T206 commons list for $135 each in SMR. The equivalent total SMR value for the collection is $10,935. Total: 81 cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$8,000+. SOLD FOR $12,925
