1933-1934 R136 National Chicle "Sky Birds" PSA-Graded Collection (66)

Collection of sixty-six extremely crisp high-grade 1933-1934 "Sky Birds" cards (all different and representing 61% of the entire set!). Issued by National Chicle, the "Sky Birds" set features famous pilots and airplanes of the day, and has always been regarded as one of the most popular of all 1930s nonsport gum-card sets, in part because of its bright colors, sharp details, and popular subject matter. The PSA grades are as follows: Seven NM-MT 8: #7 Dorme (one of just eight examples at this level, with none graded higher), 12 Luke (one of just eight examples at this level, with only one graded higher), 31 Vaughn (only one graded higher), 33 Kingsford-Smith (one of just nine examples at this level, with only one graded higher), 39 Stinson (OC), 40 Balchen (only one graded higher), and 91 DeSeversky (OC). One NM+ 7.5: #48 Earhart (only example graded at this level).
