1892 N110 Duke "French Novelties Complete Set (25)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $470

Complete set of twenty-five 1892 N110 Duke "French Novelties” cards. A very attractive complete set of these rare, colorful, and very striking nineteenth-century tobacco cards, with sixteen cards ranging from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt, and nine lesser. This is a beautiful set with an overall strong Excellent appearance across the board. Duke Tobacco cards in general are far rarer than cards issued by many other tobacco companies such as Allen & Ginter. Issued with Duke’s Honest Long Cut and Gail & Ax's Navy Long Cut brand tobacco, each card features a colorful, graphically detailed lithographic image of an unnamed "beauty" dressed in fancy Victorian attire. The checklist provided in the classic American Tobacco Cards Price Guide (written by Terrence Mitchell and Robert Forbes, 1995) was created by referencing what each woman is holding in her hand. N110 “French Novelties” is rarely offered as a complete set. Total: 25 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $470
