1955 Topps All-American Football #1 Herman Hickman - PSA MINT 9

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,645

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Out of 351 examples graded to date by PSA, only thirteen have graded PSA MINT 9, with no PSA 10 examples ever graded. Condition-sensitive #1 card in ultra high grade featuring Herman Hickman, from the popular 1955 Topps All-American issue. The card displays four razor-sharp corners, and brilliant colors, and is centered just a hint to the left (approximately 40/60 L/F). The reverse is flawless with no gum or wax stains as are often the case with 1955 Topps All-American. Being the number-one card in the set, it is a true condition rarity. This card naturally gravitated to the top of the stack, usually exposing it to extra wear and handling, and thus making high-grade examples far more difficult to find than most other 1955 Topps All-American cards. This extraordinary card would be an extremely significant addition to any high-grade 1955 Topps All-American collection or PSA Registry set. SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,750. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,645
