1989 Michael Jordan Signed Bank Deposit Slip
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $529
Bank deposit ticket, dated January 27, 1989, signed in black ink (grading "10") on the front by Michael Jordan. The deposit ticket, issued by the Bank of Glenbrook (Glenview, Illinois), features Jordan's name and address printed at the top. The slip has been filled in by hand and records the deposit of two checks, one for $2,000 and the other for $1,500, and notes that Jordan received $1,000 cash back, for a total deposit of $2,500. Following this bank transaction, Jordan headed over to Chicago Stadium for a game against the Washington Bullets, where he proceeded to make a few more deposits, this time through the hoop. Jordan led all scorers with thirty-three points in the Bulls' 117-106 win over the Bullets. Jordan averaged 32.5 points per game during the 1988/1989 season and led the Bulls to the Eastern Conference finals, where they were defeated by the eventual champions, the Detroit Pistons. This is a very unusual signed Jordan item. It is the first Jordan signed deposit ticket we have ever offered and we cannot recall the last time we saw another example at public auction. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $529
