1991-1995 Kirby Puckett Signed Pro-Model Game Bat
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $823
Kirby Puckett Louisville Slugger signature-model ("P339") bat dating from the 1991-1995 manufacturing period (Puckett retired in 1995). The cupped-end bat features Puckett's uniform number ("34") written on the knob in black marker. Puckett has inscribed the bat "Kirby Puckett/#34" in blue Sharpie (grading "10") on the sweet spot of the barrel. The bat displays heavy use in the form of deeply embedded ball and stitch marks (including ink transfers from the ball), rack marks, pine tar on the upper half of the handle, and an approximate three-inch crack at the base of the handle. Although Kirby Puckett's career was brief (1984-1995), his accomplishments were many, including one batting title, ten All-Star Game appearances, six Gold Glove Awards, and eight seasons of batting .300 or better. He also led the Twins to two World Championships over that span. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001. Length: 34.5 inches. Weight: 31.2 ounces. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $823
