1912 T207 Brown Background Rarities SGC-Graded Collection (25)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,581

Collection of twenty-five different rarities from the 1912 T207 Brown Background set, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). This group heralds from one of vintage-card collecting's most extraordinary recent discoveries: The Louisiana Find of 2010. This exciting find of ninety-four rare tobacco cards, including eight previously unknown T207 Red Cross back cards, are offered in twenty-five lots in this auction. The T207 set is well known for its many rare cards that make completing this set so challenging. This collection is comprised exclusively of rarer cards from the set. All of the cards have "Anonymous" backs. The SGC grades are as follows: Four VG/EX 50: Blanding, Gregg, Kutina, and Phelan. Four VG 40: Donnelly, Houser, Kirke, and Pelty. Nine GOOD 30: Almeida, Benz, Downey, Fournier, Fromme, Hogan, Kelly, Peters, and Sweeney. Five FAIR 20: Bushelman, Butcher, Easterly, Engle, and Moore. Three POOR 10: Carrigan, Herzog, and Works. This is an extremely significant collection of twenty-five mid-grade T207 rarities that would make an enormous contribution to any mid-grade T207 Brown Background set or collection. Total: 25 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+.
