1912 T207 Brown Background Tyler - Rare "Red Cross" Back

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,463

Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. T207 "Red Cross" tobacco card of George Tyler from the Boston Nationals. This is one of eight T207 cards with "Red Cross" backs from one of vintage-card collecting's most exciting recent discoveries: the Louisiana Find of 2010. Tyler has always been recognized as a very rare card in the T207 set (with any back), but until now has been unknown with a Red Cross advertising back. The card has no right border (miscut) and several creases. The reverse has few light tobacco stains and the printed text is centered to the far right (related to the obverse centering). Very attractive and unique T207 example with the extremely rare Red Cross advertising reverse. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $6,463
