Hall of Fame Signature Collection in Framed Displays (22)

Collection of twenty-two different Hall of Fame signatures, most on extremely substantial and highly desirable items including checks, postcards, letters, and first-day covers. For display purposes, each of the signed items has been mounted (by means of adhesive) and framed together with an example of the respective player's Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcard. The majority of the framed displays measure 13 x 15 inches, with a few slightly smaller and larger. Unless otherwise noted, all of the checks display normal bank cancellation stamps and/or holes. 1) Bill Terry. Jacksonville Baseball Company check, dated 7/15/60, signed in blue ink (grading "8"). Ex; vertical fold. 8.5 x 3.5 inches. 2) Harry Heilmann. Promissory note, dated 11/27/25, signed in black fountain pen ("8/9"). Vg; folds and staple holes. 8.25 x 3.5 inches. 3) Casey Stengel. Personal check, dated 3/2/61, signed in blue ink ("10"). Ex-Mt. 8.25 x 3 inches. 4) Mickey Cochrane. Bank check, dated 11/13/61, signed in blue ink ("10"). Ex-Mt. 6.25 x 2.75 inches. 5) Branch Rickey. St. Louis Cardinals player contract for Allyn Stout, dated 9/10/30, signed by both Rickey ("9") and Stout ("10"). The contract is folded in such a manner that only the signature section is visible within the framed display. Appears Ex. 8.5 x 3.75 inches (visible portion). 6) Harry Hooper. Personal check, dated 7/23/74, signed in blue ink ("10"). Ex; vertical fold. 8.25 x 3 inches. 7) Eppa Rixey. Bank check, dated 4/1/59, signed in blue ink ("9"). Ex; vertical fold. 8.25 x 3 inches. 8) Sandy Koufax. Perez/Steele Guarantee Registration Card signed in blue ink ("10"). Nr-Mt. 5.5 x 3.5 inches. This is the actual card that Sandy Koufax signed and sent back to Perez-Steele Galleries to receive the Perez-Steele HOF postcards as they were issued. 9) Sam Crawford. Black-and-white Hall of Fame postcard signed in blue ink ("10") on the front along the base. Yellow Hall of Fame postcard signed in black Sharpie ("10") on the front along the top. Ex-Mt. 3.5 x 5.5 inches. 13) Bob Gibson. 1981 Hall of Fame Induction invitation signed in black marker ("6/7") on the front. Ex-Mt. 5.5 x 7.5 inches. 14) Bill Dickey. 1939 Hall of Fame first-day cover signed in black marker ("8/9") on the front. Ex-Mt. 6.5 x 3.5 inches. 15) Joe DiMaggio. 1949 Joe DiMaggio Day first-day cover, signed in blue Sharpie ("10") on the front (the envelope also features a Joe DiMaggio stamped facsimile signature). Ex-Mt. 4.5 x 6.25 inches. 19) Jocko Conlon. 1981 Hall of Fame After Dinner Reception invitation signed in black marker ("7") on the front. Ex-Mt. 4.5 x 6.25 inches. 20) Al Lopez. 1939 Hall of Fame first-day cover signed in black marker ("7/8") on the front. Ex. 6.5 x 3.5 inches. 21) Stan Musial. 1969 100 Anniversary of Professional Baseball first-day cover signed in black marker ("10") on the front. Ex. 6.5 x 3.75 inches. 22) Monte Irvin. One-page typed letter on Commissioner of Baseball letterhead, dated 5/6/81, signed in black ink ("8"). The letter is to collecting legend Frank Steele in regards to some photos Irvin was lending him, possibly related to the production of Irvin's Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcard. Nr-Mt. 7 x 9.5 inches. Also accompanying the twenty-two framed displays are seven Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards, each signed on the front in blue Sharpie (each grading "10') by the respective player: Bobby Doerr, Ray Dandridge, Catfish Hunter, Billy Williams, Al Barlick, Johnny Bench, and Carl Yastrzemski. Total: 29 signed items (22 framed display pieces plus 7 individual Perez-Steele signed Hall of Fame postcards).
