1912 T207 Brown Background Cunningham - Rare "Red Cross" Back

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,819

Graded VG 40 by SGC. T207 "Red Cross" tobacco card of William Cunningham from the Washington Americans. This is one of eight T207 cards with "Red Cross" backs from one of vintage-card collecting's most exciting recent discoveries: the Louisiana Find of 2010. Cunningham has always been recognized as a rare card in the T207 set (with any back), but until now has been unknown with a Red Cross advertising back. Centered to the far left (approximately 10/90 L/R), with even wear on the corners, and a couple of light creases. The reverse has a few scattered light stains including a larger one on the bottom (probably from tobacco). This is a very attractive and to date unique T207 example with the extremely rare Red Cross advertising reverse. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $3,819
