1941 and 1957 Brooklyn Dodgers Team-Signed Baseballs (2)

This desirable pair of Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed baseballs is comprised of one dating from the club's 1941 pennant-winning season, and the other from the team's final season in Brooklyn. 1) 1941: Official National League (Frick) ball signed in both blue and black ink by the following eighteen members of the 1941 National League champion Dodgers: Durocher (Mgr., across the ball label), Herman, Reese, Reiser, Casey, Drake, Spencer, Hamlin, Kimball, Camilli (clubhouse), Wyatt, Higbe, Lavagetto (clubhouse), Owen, Chipman, Walker, Riggs, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from "5" to "8," averaging "6/7." The ball has been coated with a light layer of protective shellac that displays a few small areas of very minor flaking; it is otherwise in Excellent overall condition. 2) 1957: "City League" ball (no manufacturer listed) signed in blue ink by thirteen members of the 1957 Dodgers: Alston (Mgr., sweet spot), Campanella, Snider, Reese, Drysdale, Hodges, Newcombe, Podres, Jackson, Gentile, Lillis, Kipp, and Pignatano. The blue-ink notation, "Spring 1957," is printed on the sweet spot directly above Alston's signature. Bob Lillis did not make the team in 1957, but instead made his Major League debut the following season with the Dodgers. The signatures are all fairly uniform in grade, averaging "7/8." All of the signature panels have been coated with a light layer of protective shellac. The ball displays a few small areas of discoloration that do not affect any of the signatures.
