1910-1912 T215 Red Cross Tobacco Type 1 - Clark Griffith

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,058

Graded VG 40 by SGC. The T215 Red Cross set is an extremely rare tobacco-card set believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, and which has much in common with the T206 “White Border” set. Offered is an exceptional sample card of Hall of Fame member Clark Griffith (batting pose). This card is one of the many highlights from one of vintage-card collecting's most exciting recent discoveries: The Louisiana Find of 2010 (comprised of just 94 cards, all rarities, including eight T207 Red Cross back cards). This is a particularly attractive card for a Vg grade, bright and clean, with vibrant colors, flawless registration, and perfect centering. The reverse is relatively clean and with bold crisp print, both ideal qualities for a sample of this scarce issue. It is rare to find any T215 Red Cross Tobacco in any grade, let alone an exceptionally strong and attractive example of a Hall of Famer. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,058
