1979 Topps Baseball Factory-Sealed Six-Box Rack Case
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,700
Complete original unopened rack case of 1979 Topps baseball. The case houses six boxes with twenty-four packs per box for a total of 144 packs. With each pack containing thirty-nine cards, the case represents a total of 5,616 cards. The 1979 Topps baseball set includes Hall of Famers Nolan Ryan, Ozzie Smith, George Brett, and Mike Schmidt. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this case are Gem Mint cards of every player in the set, including Ozzie Smith's rookie. The 2009 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards book value for a 1979 Topps rack box is $575, thus the book value for six boxes as found here in an unopened rack case is $3,450. Original factory seals intact with typical outer box wear. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,700
