1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" Complete Set Uncut Sheet (132 cards including Complete Set)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,525

Extraordinarily rare 1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" full uncut production sheet! This is an incredible sheet! The first and only example we have ever seen, this 132-card sheet displays a complete set of all seventy-seven cards including the twenty-two particularly scarce single-print cards, and a near-set of fifty-five cards (missing the single-print cards). The composition of this sheet is fascinating as it explains how the 1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" were printed and exactly why fifty-five cards are more common than the twenty-two rarer cards in the set. The final issued 1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" were released with perforations through the middle and around the player, "Batter-Up style," to allow the card to be folded over to stand freely. The cards on this uncut sheet are unperforated and the printing is ever-so-slightly off register (this probably relates to why it survived in sheet form). Included are all the major stars of the day (as noted, most of them twice): Aaron, Banks, Clemente, Drysdale SP, Kaline, Killebrew, Koufax, Mantle, Marichal SP, Mathews SP, Mays, McCovey SP, Brooks and Frank Robinson, Spahn SP, B. Williams SP, and Yastrzemski SP, are just a few of the many stars in this set. The sheet has a number of condition flaws, including creasing, a four-inch tear on the top border reinforced with clear tape, a second tear (2.5 inches) near the left border, a few moisture stains visible on the reverse, and three pieces of clear tape on the back to reinforce the tears. In overall Good condition. It still displays beautifully! This is one of the most exciting and intriguing sheets we have ever seen. Its rarity is simply incredible and its visual appeal is extraordinary. Archived records (which do not include images) show that in the very early days of the Topps Vault a 1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" sheet was sold on eBay. We have no idea if this is that very sheet. If it is not, then there is at least one other out there. If this is the same sheet, this may be the only survivor. In either case, this is an extremely rare uncut sheet, that would be an exciting display piece in even the world's most advanced collection, featuring 132 cards (including a complete set) of this very interesting, unusual, and scarce 1960s Topps set. Dimensions: 29.25 x 43.5 inches. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,525
