1960 Topps Complete Set (572)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,763

10% Ex-Mt (includes a few Nr/Mt), 72% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, 18% Vg (includes a few slightly lesser). This is a strong set with crisp cards that at a glance look even better than suggested by its technically accurate condition composite. Highlighted by a particularly impressive example of key card #350 Mickey Mantle, graded PSA EX-MT 6. The rookie cards of Hall of Famers Carl Yastrzemski and Willie McCovey highlight the 1960 Topps issue, which was Topps’ last horizontal issue. Many of the biggest stars in the set, including Mantle, Mays, and Aaron, appear in the set more than once due to the All-Star card series. Mantle actually has three cards in this set, as he also appears on the #160 "Rival All-Stars" card with Ken Boyer. We have selected four cards from the set to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #1 Wynn (Vg-Ex), 10 Banks (Vg-Ex), 18 Dodgers Team (Vg-Ex), 28 B. Robinson (Vg-Ex), 35 Ford (Ex), 50 Kaline (Ex), 73 Gibson (Ex), 148 Yastrzemski RC (Vg), 160 Mantle/Boyer (Vg-Ex), 200 Mays (PSA VG-EX 4), 210 Killebrew (Vg), 250 Musial (Vg-Ex), 300 Aaron (PSA EX 5), 316 McCovey RC (Vg), 326 Clemente (Vg), 332 Yankees Team (Vg), 343 Koufax (Gd-Vg), 350 Mantle (PSA EX-MT 6), 377 Maris (Vg), 420 Mathews (Vg-Ex), 445 Spahn (Ex), 475 Drysdale (Ex-Mt), 480 Berra (PSA EX-MT 6), 490 Robinson (Vg+), 493 Snider (Vg), 554 McCovey AS (Ex-Mt), 563 Mantle AS (Vg-Ex), 564 Mays AS (Vg), 565 Maris AS (Vg), and 566 Aaron AS (Gd-Vg). Complete 1960 Topps sets show up with far less frequency than many other sets from the era. This is a strong mid-grade set, and in addition to all the special cards and scarce high-numbers (#507-572), it is loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1960s. Total 572 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,763
