1949 Bowman #84 Roy Campanella Rookie - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $823

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 663 examples graded by PSA, only eighteen cards have been graded higher. Incredible high grade rookie card of Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, one of the key cards from the classic 1949 baseball card issue, and one of the key Hall of Famer rookie cards of the era. Bright and crisp, and with perfect registration, this card is a gem, crisp and clean, with four sharp corners, and a clean reverse with bold, crisp print. The front of the card is centered slightly to the left (approximately 40/60 L/R). Cards from this set are extremely hard to find in high grade in part because these cards often naturally have soft corners due to the quality of the paper stock on which they are printed. This is an extremely high-grade example of Campanella's first gum card from the classic 1949 Bowman set. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $823
