1910-Era SGC-Graded Hall of Famer Card Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,350
Collection of five high-quality Hall of Famers, all dating from the 1910 era, from five different highly regarded prewar issues. This is a great looking group of Hall of Famers! All five cards have each been graded and encapsulated by SGC. 1) 1904 Fan Craze: Nap Lajoie (SGC NM+ 86. Sharp portrait image). Spectacular card! 2) 1909 E90-1 American Caramel: Willie Keeler/pink background (SGC GOOD 30. Harshly graded; this card looks Ex. Bright and clean, with no creases, only light corner wear, and centered slightly to the bottom. Solid Ex card downgraded due to being badly miscut on the reverse, featuring the back of one-third of the card above on the sheet; some collectors would find such a rare and unusual printing anomaly very desirable; it appears to us that this has been the sole cause of this card being downgraded from Ex). 3) 1909 T204 Ramly: Eddie Collins (SGC GOOD 30. Nice-looking mid-grade example of one of the key cards to the set, with staining on the reverse related to having been removed from a scrapbook long ago). 4) 1911 T205 Gold Border: Cy Young (SGC VG 40. Centered to the right, with bold colors, and rounded corners). 5) 1915 E145 Cracker Jack: #136 Rabbit Maranville (SGC EX 60. Perfectly clean, both front and back, with a striking red background, extremely sharp looking card, appears Nr/Mt). This is a very attractive group of Hall of Famers from five classic 1910-era issues. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $2,235. Total 5 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+.
