1926 Spalding Champions Hall of Fame Rookie Card Collection (3)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $823
Collection of three Hall of Famer rookie cards from the 1926 Spalding Champions set, each graded and encapsulated by PSA or SGC. 1) Mickey Cochrane (PSA NM 7). Perfectly clean and crisp front and back, with four sharp corners (a little more wear on the lower right), and a flawless image. 2) Tony Lazzeri (SGC VG 40). Well centered, with light, even wear on the corners, and some light staining. No creases. 3) Paul Waner (SGC VG 40). Evenly rounded corners and some light creases. In our opinion, these are the most classic cards of the 1920s. They are beautifully and elegantly designed, and magnificently produced. In our eyes, these are the "Ramlys" of the 1920s. They are also very rare, which is particularly interesting because the market has absolutely not recognized the rarity of these cards, and this is reflected in current price-guide levels. This is a very attractive collection of three 1926 Spalding Champions Hall of Famers. Total 3 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $823
