1916 Tango Brand Eggs Buck Weaver

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $411

Graded VG 3 by PSA. This a very attractive high-grade 1916 Tango Brand Eggs card of "Black Sox" member Buck Weaver. This is an exceptional card, obviously originating directly from the legendary Tango Brand Eggs card find of 1993, with an appearance far superior to its PSA assigned grade. At a glance, this card looks Near Mint! This is also a particularly interesting card in that, although identified as Buck Weaver the image on the card is actually that of Hall of Famer Joe Tinker. Crisp and clean. Virtually perfectly centered (which is very unusual for this issue) with a slight natural diamond cut. All four corners are sharp and the colors are flawless. Downgraded by PSA due to a small area of surface paper loss in the upper right portion of the reverse, affecting one word of the text, but otherwise the card has an overall Near Mint appearance. This is a very strong and extremely attractive example of "Black Sox" star Buck Weaver from one of the most interesting of all prewar card issues. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $411
