1916 M101-4 "Everybody's" SGC-Graded Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,763

Important Addendum: There are four different "Everybody's Boy's Clothing Department Store" backs known (font differences). This lot includes examples of all four and is the first time ever that a set of all four backs have been assembled and presented as a collection.

Four extremely rare 1916 "Everybody's Boy's Clothing Department Store" cards, each encapsulated and graded by SGC. "Everybody's" cards are among the rarest of all M101-4/5 style advertising backs. The M101-4/5 Sporting News cards were issued as promotional vehicles for a number of regional businesses. While all of the M101-4/5 related issues have the same fronts, a variety of different regional advertisers can be found on their reverses (Famous & Barr, Globe, Gimbels, Weil Baking, etc.) "Everybody's Boy's Clothing Department Store" backs are easily one of the rarest of these various advertising backs. In fact, these are the very first examples we have ever offered! Presented is a very significant collection of four of these vintage-card extreme rarities. The SGC grades are as follows: #20 Burns (VG 40), 22 Bush (VG/EX 50), 24 Byrne (VG 40), and 40 Cravath (VG 40). Each is a very attractive sample card of this extremely rare issue, with boldly printed reverses. Total 4 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate (open).
