1915 E145 Cracker Jack #30 Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,525

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Exceptionally attractive, bright, and clean example of what many consider to be the most classic of all Ty Cobb cards. This is a tremendous card, all the more so for the modest grade, with much stronger eye-appeal than suggested by its technically accurate PSA grade of GOOD. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with deep, bright colors, and evenly rounded corners, and centering 70/30 left to right. The reverse is perfectly clean with no stains and bold black print. This card certainly looks Vg or Vg-Ex, and only upon the most careful examination under magnification can we see that it has been downgraded by SGC due to two tiny extreme edge-of-border tears (almost certainly from rubber band storage; of no consequence, extremely minute and virtually undetectable): one in the middle of the top border and the other in the middle of right border (more visible from the reverse). This is a very rarely offered and extremely desirable grade for this classic card, providing a relatively affordable alternative to a far more expensive super high-grade example, without compromising on any of the most important qualities of the card. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,525
