1912 T207 Brown Background Rarities PSA NM 7 Collection (8)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,581

Collection of eight high-grade rarities from the 1912 T207 Brown Background set, each graded and encapsulated NM 7 by PSA. Seven of the eight cards (Almeida, Birmingham, Cunningham, Herzog, Kelly, Kutina, and Ryan) are the highest graded listed on the PSA population report. 1) Rafael Almeida. As one of the earliest Cuban-born players in the majors, Almeida is a particularly significant and popular card in the T207 set. The card has four sharp corners, centered 10/90 left to right. "Anonymous" back is perfectly clean. 2) Joe Birmingham. This is the highest non-qualified Birmingham example in the entire PSA population report. (Note: one example is graded higher but with a qualifier.) Bright and clean, front and back, with four sharp corners, a perfect image, and centered a hint towards the bottom. Extremely bold Broadleaf Cigarettes ad on back. 3) William Cunningham. Sharp-looking card! Centered slightly to the left. Beautiful red Cycle Cigarettes advertisement on back. 4) Vean Gregg. This is the only example graded at this level by PSA, with just two examples graded higher. (Note: one of the two examples has a qualifier). Perfectly clean front and back, with sharp corners, and almost perfect centering. Striking red Cycle Cigarettes advertisement on the reverse. 5) Charlie Herzog. Perfect image, sharp corners, and centered slightly to the bottom, with a very slight natural diamond cut. Broadleaf advertisement on reverse. 6) William Kelly. Sharp image with bright colors, and centered approximately 30/70 left to right. Cycle Cigarettes ad on back. 7) Joseph Kutina. Beautifully centered example, with perfect image quality, and four sharp corners (the top left has a little visible wear). Cycle Cigarettes ad on back. 8) J. B. Ryan. Very sharp example with a perfect image, sharp corners, centered just a hint to the right. Cycle Cigarettes advertisement on the back. T207s are particularly challenging to collect due to the many rarities included in the set. This is a very sharp, high-grade collection (all PSA NM 7) of eight significant T207 rarities. Total 8 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+.
