1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco SGC-Graded Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,233
Five particularly attractive T204 Ramly tobacco cards, highlighted by Hall of Famer Miller Huggins, from an old-time collection. One card is graded EX+ 70 by SGC, one graded EX 60 by SGC, one graded VG/EX 50 by SGC, one graded VG 40 by SGC, and one graded FAIR 20 by SGC, all submitted for grading by REA. Among the most elegantly designed card issues ever produced, T204 Ramlys are noted for the distinctive fancy gold-embossed borders that surround the oval photographic portraits. They are universally regarded as one of the most beautiful card issues ever created. The collection is comprised of the following: Neal Ball (EX+ 70), Andy Coakley (VG/EX 50), Roy Hartzell (FAIR 20; downgraded only due to remnants of removal from scrapbook on reverse, otherwise Ex-Mt), Miller Huggins (HOF, VG 40), and Larry McLean (EX 60). This is a very attractive small group of these classic cards. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $2,430. Total 5 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,233
