Gigantic 1975 Topps Mini Baseball Card Assortment (20,000+ cards)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $38,188

Crisp, literally pack-fresh hoard of 20,000+ 1975 Topps Mini baseball cards. These cards were found stored away in Charlie Conlon's collection. This is not surprising, of course, as Charlie was "The King of 1975 Topps Minis." Each card was obviously pulled directly from packs that Charlie opened just for fun. These cards were probably all opened in 1975 or 1976, as he soon realized he was better off leaving the cards unopened. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. This hoard of pack-fresh high-grade examples could provide the foundation for many high-grade sets and at the same time provide quality inventory to fill want lists. A high percentage of these cards are well-centered, with the sharp look which pack-fresh quality cards from this era display. Hall of Famers, stars and popular numbers are also present in the assortment, with such highlights as (quantities in parentheses): #1 Aaron HL (23), 5 Ryan HL (27), 20 Munson (33), 50 Robinson (28), 61 Winfield (21), 70 Schmidt (45), 223 Yount RC (54), 228 Brett RC (55), 260 Bench (31), 300 Jackson (21), 320 Rose (21), 370 Seaver (26), 500 Ryan (14), 616 Rice RC (14), 620 Carter RC (8), 623 Hernandez RC (29), and 660 Aaron (15). The condition is uniformly high grade throughout, with a full 80% grading Nr/Mt or better and 20% grading slightly lesser due to centering issues. Most of these cards are suitable candidates for professional grading or ideal for upgrading a high-grade set. Total 20,000+ cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $38,188
