Two 1975 Topps Mini Cello Cases Plus 10 Extra Boxes and 34 Extra Packs

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $44,063

Two complete original 1975 Topps Mini baseball cello cases (fifteen boxes per case), plus an additional ten extra cello boxes, and thirty-four extra cello packs. Each cello case houses fifteen boxes with twenty-four packs per box for a total of 360 packs. With each pack containing eighteen cards, a complete cello case represents a total of 6,480 cards. Therefore, this group of two unopened cello cases, plus an additional ten extra boxes and thirty-four extra packs, represents a total of 17,892 cards. Also included are three rare unopened 1975 Topps mini rack packs with 42 cards each. The 1975 Topps Mini set includes the rookie cards of Hall of Famers George Brett, Robin Yount, and Gary Carter, and many other stars, including Schmidt, Aaron, Ryan, and Jackson. The 1975 Mini cards are 20% smaller than the standard Topps cards and were test marketed only in Michigan and certain areas of the West Coast. Aside from their smaller size, they are otherwise identical to the standard 1975 Topps cards. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps Mini set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. While we cannot state with certainty, it seems highly probable that within these cases are numerous cards, both stars and commons, that would be ideal candidates for professional grading. The outer boxes, both of which are a little rough, have been opened and the fifteen wax boxes in each case remain in their original guaranteed unsearched and unopened state. As a special courtesy to REA, all unopened boxes and cases in this auction have been personally reviewed by world renowned unopened box and case expert Steve Hart of the Baseball Card Exchange. From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Please Note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, shipping costs (depending on where it is sent and its method of shipping) may be substantial. Reserve $5,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $44,063
