1975-1981 Topps Wax and Cello Unopened Box and Pack Collection (497 packs, 6,250 cards)

Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $14,100

Tremendous collection of eleven Topps wax and cello boxes and an additional 88 unopened packs spanning the years 1975 to 1981. These boxes and packs were put away throughout the 1970s and 1980s by longtime hobbyist Charlie Conlon. The interior packs are in Excellent or better condition (mostly Near Mint or better), have never been handled, and display only normal packing and storage wear, if any at all (sometimes in the manufacturer's packaging process a pack can have a tiny corner tear or minor imperfection). 1) 1975 Mini Wax (5 complete boxes, 36 packs per box): 180 packs. Each pack contains ten cards for a total of 1,800 cards. Each box has light moisture stains on the bottom which has not affected the packs on the inside. 2) 1975 Wax (3 complete boxes, 36 packs per box): 108 packs plus an additional 31 packs for a total of 139 packs. Each pack contains ten cards for a total of 1,390 cards. Twenty-six packs have price tags on the front. 3) 1976 Wax (1 box plus 35 packs): Complete box of 36 packs ("1976 Series" wrapper) plus an additional 35 packs ("All 660" 1974 wrapper) for a total of 71 packs. Thirty-six packs each contain 7 cards and 35 packs each contain 10 cards or a total of 602 cards. 4) 1977 Cello (37 packs): Each pack contains 18 cards for a total of 666 cards. 5) 1978 Cello (1 box): Complete box of 24 packs. Each pack contains 21 cards for a total of 504 cards. 6) 1981 Cello (1 box plus 22 packs): Complete box of 24 packs plus an additional 22 packs for a total of 46 packs. Each pack contains 28 cards for a total of 1,288 cards. This is a tremendous unopened collection with many highlights. There are no guarantees with reference to grading unopened material, but it would be hard to imagine that these boxes do not include a generous supply of potential PSA 9s and PSA 10s of every player in their respective set, including rookie cards of Brett, Yount, Carter, Rice, Dawson, Murray, Trammell, Molitor, and many more. This vast collection includes a total of 497 packs (of which 372 packs complete nine wax boxes and two cello boxes) representing 6,250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $14,100
