1963 Topps PSA MINT 9 Low Population Collection (32 cards, each from a Population of 6 to 10)

Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $4,994

Extraordinary ultra-high grade collection of thirty-two different 1963 Topps baseball cards, each graded MINT 9 by PSA. Each card has brilliant colors with four razor-sharp corners and near-perfect centering. This is part of an extraordinary complete set of 1963 Topps cards, by far the finest we have ever seen or offered (PSA Registry Set #6), which we have broken down into smaller lots. We have organized the PSA MINT 9 cards by the quantity listed in the PSA Population Report. All thirty-two cards are crisp gems. All of these cards have a population of only six to ten examples graded at this level with none or only one graded higher. This collection of spectacular MINT examples consists of the following: #5 NL ERA LDRS with Koufax and Drysdale, 63 Reds team, 73, 78, 90, 103, 106, 133, 135 Ashburn, 147 WS Game 6, 157, 164, 197, 204, 207, 220 Pascual, 263, 276, 295, 303, 316, 322, 332, 334, 408, 425, 442, 444, 469, 511, 556, and 570. As of this writing, all of these cards are the highest graded examples in the PSA Population Report with the exception of numbers 303, 334, 425, and 444 (there is only one higher-graded example for each). This is a tremendous collection for this issue, each in an uncompromising ultra high grade, and each an ideal addition to a world-class 1963 Topps baseball set. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR. This is a fascinating group in that these carefully chosen thirty-two cards all alone could make such an extremely significant contribution to the assembly of any world-class high-grade 1963 Topps PSA Registry set. SMR value is $4,707. Total 32 cards. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000++. SOLD FOR $4,994
