1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,644

20% Ex-Mt (with a few better), 70% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, 10% Vg (two lesser). The 1954 Topps set is highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, and is universally recognized as one of the most popular and classic of all 1950s baseball-card sets. We submitted six cards from this set to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (VG/EX 50), 10 Robinson (Vg), 13 Martin (Vg), 17 Rizzuto (EX 60), 20 Spahn (Ex), 30 Mathews (Ex), 32 Snider (Vg), 36 Wilhelm (Vg), 37 Ford (EX 60), 45 Ashburn (Vg-Ex), 50 Berra (VG 40), 90 Mays (Gd-Vg), 94 Banks RC (miscut along the top edge, otherwise Vg-Ex), 102 Hodges (Gd-Vg), 128 Aaron RC (VG 40), 132 Lasorda RC (Vg-Ex/Ex), 201 Kaline RC (EX 60), 239 Skowron RC (Vg-Ex/Ex), and 250 Williams (Fr). Vintage sets in this grade are especially desirable, representing an exceptional value. This set was put together by an old-time collector back in the early 1970s and remained stored away in a closet for over 35 years. This is a very attractive high-quality set of this classic Topps issue, loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1950s. Total 250 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,644
