Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 797 examples graded by PSA, only 13 cards have been graded higher. Extremely crisp, super high-grade example of Joe DiMaggio's most recognizable card produced at the very beginning of his Major League career. One of card collecting's classics of the era, this is one of the keys to the 1939 Play Ball set, and one of the most popular of all prewar baseball cards. This striking example has four razor-sharp corners, snow-white borders, a crystal clear image of the "Yankee Clipper" in a portrait pose, and is centered slightly to the left (approximately 35/65 L/R). Perfectly clean, both front and back. An exceptional high-grade example of one of the key cards from the 1939 Play Ball set and one of the most popular cards of the era.
