1934-1936 R327 Diamond Stars Hall of Fame PSA-Graded Collection (16)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,231

Collection of sixteen different Hall of Famers from the 1934-1936 Diamond Stars series, with numerous highlights including #1 Lefty Grove and #54 Hank Greenberg, all graded and encapsulated by PSA (except three SGC). This is a great-looking group of 1930s Hall of Famers. Six cards are graded NM 7, two are EX-MT 6, five are EX 5, one is VG/EX 50, one is VG 40, and one is GOOD 2. PSA grades are as follows: Six NM 7: #18 Hafey, 17 Frisch, 27 Traynor, 43 Lyons, 48 Ferrell, and 54 Greenberg. Two EX-MT 6: #2 Simmons and Harris. Five EX 5: #1 Grove (SGC EX 60, a particularly strong card for this significant condition rarity), 9 Cochrane, 28 Lopez, 74 Lazzeri, and 83 Waner. One SGC VG/EX 50: #11 Dickey (we're sure there's a reason this card is graded VG-EX, but in the holder this card looks Ex-Mt). One SGC VG 40: #30 Manush (front Ex, tiny spot of paper loss to reverse). One GOOD 2: #44 Hornsby (front Vg-Ex, tiny spot of paper loss to reverse). Don't be distracted by the three lower graded cards; they are nice-looking cards, still an asset to the collection, but it is the remaining thirteen cards that are in high grade and represent virtually all the value here. This collection includes exactly half of the thirty-two different Hall of Fame players in the 1934-1936 Diamond Stars set. This is an very attractive and carefully assembled collection of high-quality Diamond Stars Hall of Famers, all in an extremely desirable condition, with many highlights. Total 16 cards. The equivalent SMR value is $3,442. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $3,231
