1934 R320 Goudey #12 Carl Hubbell - SGC NM/MT 88

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,410

Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. One of only two examples graded at this level with just one graded higher. #12 Carl Hubbell is a particularly difficult card to find in high grade. As a low-number (#1-24) series card in the 1934 Goudey set, the #12 Hubbell card tended to gravitate toward the top of card stacks and receive more wear than later numbers (in addition to being printed on slightly lesser quality stock that wore more easily than that used for later-series cards). Hubbell is regarded by many as the premier NL pitcher of his era. This 1934 Goudey #12 Carl Hubbell has four sharp corners and a bright, crisp, flawless surface. It is centered very slightly toward the bottom border (approximately 60/40 T/B), with extremely bold colors. The card is crisp and clean, both front and back. This is a very high grade example of one of Hubbell’s most popular and classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,410
