Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,528
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 303 examples graded to date by PSA, only three examples of this card have ever been graded higher. High-grade portrait pose of Hall of Famer Bill Terry from the 1933 Goudey set. The card displays a bold, bright green background, four sharp corners, and is centered slightly toward the bottom right (approximately 55/45 L/R and 60/40 T/B). The card is crisp and clean, both front and back (two tiny marks near the upper right corner visible on the reverse is mentioned for the sake of accuracy). In 1930, Terry had a batting average of .401, making him the last National League player to hit over .400. Terry was a great hitter who had three other seasons batting over .350 and averaged .341 for his 14-season career. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1954. This is a very high-grade example of one of Terry’s most desirable cards. SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,650. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,528
