Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,175
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 210 examples graded by PSA, only two examples of this card have ever been graded higher. Extremely attractive high-grade example of Hall of Famer Goose Goslin from the 1933 Goudey series. This 1933 Goudey #168 Goose Goslin has four sharp corners and is centered slightly toward the bottom left (approximately 40/60 L/R and 65/35 T/B), with flawless colors, and perfect registration. The card is perfectly clean both front and back. Goslin was one of the most prolific hitters of his era and even though he was not considered a slugger, he drove in over 100 runs on twelve separate occasions. He retired in 1938 with 248 home runs, 1,609 RBI (27th on the all-time list), and a .316 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1968. This is a very attractive high-grade example of perhaps Goslin’s most popular card. SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,300. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,175
