1911 T5 Pinkerton Cabinet Connie Mack
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,175
1911 T5 Pinkerton cabinet card of Hall of Fame member Connie Mack. This is one of Connie Mack's all-time great cards, capturing the legendary manager in all his splendor at the peak of his great success with the World Champion Athletics. T5 Pinkerton cabinets are among the rarest of all 1910-era tobacco issues. This card features a striking photo of Mack leaning against a railing dressed in his customary suit and straw hat. Extremely clean both front and back, with particularly strong photo contrast and detail, and very light corner and edge wear. Graded FAIR 20 by SGC. A tiny tack hole on the top border and a name neatly written in pencil (possibly the original owner of the card in 1911) along the top on the reverse is responsible for the card being downgraded from Excellent. This is a magnificent, very high quality Hall of Famer T5 cabinet of "The Tall Tactician," Connie Mack, with an exceptionally strong visual appeal. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,175
