1911 T205 Gold Borders PSA-Graded Collection (16 cards including 12 Hall of Famers)

Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $4,113

Collection of sixteen T205 Gold Borders, all graded and encapsulated by PSA (except two SGC), including twelve Hall of Famers and one minor leaguer. All are different. Eight cards are graded EX-MT 6 by PSA, three are graded EX 5 by PSA or SGC, one is graded VG/EX 50 by SGC, three are graded VG 3 by PSA, and one is graded GOOD 2 by PSA. This is a very attractive collection of (mostly) very high-grade T205 Gold Borders comprised almost entirely of Hall of Famers and key cards. Included is Ed Walsh, who is both a Hall of Famer and a key rare card in the T205 set. In addition to the twelve Hall of Famers, also included is one scarce Minor Leaguer. The collection consists of the following: Baker (EX 5), Bresnahan/mouth closed (VG 3), Brown (SGC VG/EX 50), Cady/minor leaguer (EX 5), Chance (SGC EX 60), Evers (VG 3), Graham/Rustlers (EX-MT 6, Sovereign back), Griffith (EX-MT 6), Huggins (EX-MT 6), Marquard (EX-MT 6), McGraw (GOOD 2), Sheckard (EX-MT 6), Stahl (EX-MT 6), Tinker (EX-MT 6), Walsh (VG 3, crisp and clean, a beautiful card, one of the best PSA VG 3 T205s we have seen, at a glance looks Ex, downgraded from a much higher grade due to a couple of light creases), and Wheat (EX-MT 6). The T205 Gold Border set is one of card collecting's most popular, as well as condition-sensitive, issues. The easily damaged gold borders make collecting the set in high grade particularly challenging. This is a very bright, clean, attractive collection of T205 Gold Border Hall of Famers (plus one Minor Leaguer and three commons). SMR value is $5,550. Total 16 cards. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $4,113
