1910 E105 Mello-Mint Cy Young
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,410
Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Very attractive medium-grade example of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young from this extremely rare candy issue. Because Mello-Mints are printed on such thin stock, they are usually found crinkled or heavily creased. This is an extremely crisp example of one of the key Hall of Famers in the set. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with deep, bright colors, even wear to the corners (predominately the upper right), and is crease-free with the exception of a tiny surface wrinkle visible only from the reverse. The card is centered to the left (approximately 35/65 L/R) with an ever-so-slight diamond cut. The Mello-Mint advertisement on the back is boldly printed in green against a brilliant off-white background. Caramel cards in general, of course, are rarely found in high grade, and this is especially so with Mello-Mints. This is an extremely attractive Mello-Mint example of the legendary Cy Young from one of prewar-card collecting's most condition-sensitive candy card issues. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,410
