1910 E104-3 Nadja Caramels Collection (3)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,763
E104-3 Nadja Caramels are one of the most distinctive, unusual, and important rarities of all 1910-era caramel-card issues. These cards are often confused with similarly designed "E" card and related sets (especially E104-1 and E104-2), but are a distinctive set unto themselves that feature designs that are unique to this set, and therefore have an enormous significance to 1910-era cards and caramel cards in general that is often overlooked by collectors, probably in large part because all cards from this set are so incredibly rare. To date, thirty-six different subjects are known, featuring players from five different teams (mostly Tigers, Phillies, and Giants players, but one Cleveland player and two Cardinals are also known). Presented is a collection of three different 1910 E104-3 Nadja Caramels, each graded and encapsulated by SGC: Davy Jones, Detroit (GOOD 30, horizontal crease through his face, still a nice-looking card), Cy Seymour, New York (GOOD 30, 10/90 L/R and heavily rounded corners), and Ed Summers, Detroit (FAIR 20, horizontal crease through his face, but still very presentable). All three are blank-backed. While they are technically not in high grade, all are very attractive cards, and all are worthy additions to any collection of these significant caramel-card rarities. Overall but this is a very consistent and uniformly graded group. Total 3 cards. Disclosure per section 13 of REA's terms and conditions: This lot has been consigned from the personal collection of an executive of REA's internet software service provider. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,763
