1909-1911 T206 Rube Waddell - Portrait - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,288

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of only nine graded at this level by PSA (of the 316 graded in total to date), with only two examples graded higher. Stunning ultra high-grade example of Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Waddell (portrait pose) from the T206 White Borders series, the most popular set of the era. The offered card is flawlessly crisp and clean, front and back, with four razor-sharp corners, snow-white borders, and a deep blue background. Centered very slightly towards the top left. The boldly printed Old Mill reverse is centered to the right (approximately 70/30), and this may be the primary reason this blazing card is not graded a MINT 9 by PSA. A simply astounding NM-MT card of this Hall of Fame pitcher that would enhance or upgrade any high-grade set or collection. SMR value is $3,500. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $5,288
