1909-1911 T206 Addie Joss - Portrait - PSA NM-MT 8
Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $5,581
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 349 examples graded by PSA, only two cards have been graded higher. Stunning high-grade example of Addie Joss from the prized T206 White Borders series features a classic portrait image set against a brilliant yellow background. The portrait pose has long been considered the rarest, and by far the most desirable, of the two poses of Joss in the T206 set. The corners are razor-sharp with just a slight hint of wear under magnification (predominately the lower right). The Piedmont reverse is flawless. The centering is virtually perfect (approximately 52/48 L/R). Bright and clean, both front and back, and with particularly full, large borders. This is an extremely attractive high-grade example of one of the key cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $5,000. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000+. SOLD FOR $5,581
