1909-1911 T206 White Border Rarities PSA-Graded Collection (6)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,528
Collection of six scarce key cards from the popular T206 White Border series, each graded and encapsulated by PSA. These are six of the cards which make completing a T206 set so difficult. All six of these cards, since the earliest days of organized collecting, have been recognized as among the most difficult to find in the set. 1) George Brown - Washington (VG+ 3.5. Bright and crisp, with evenly rounded corners, deep, rich colors, well centered just a hint to the left, and with no creases. Piedmont back). 2) Bill Dahlen - Brooklyn (PR 1. Very attractive card for the grade, with a couple vertical creases near the upper right corner, evenly rounded corners, and well centered. Piedmont back). 3) Kid Elberfeld - Washington, Port. (VG 3. Very pleasing example, especially for the grade, with virtually perfect centering, evenly rounded corners, and a few extremely light surface creases. Sweet Caporal advertisement on reverse). 4) Red Kleinow - Boston (VG-EX 4. Centered to the top right, with even wear to the corners, and a perfectly clean reverse. Polar Bear back). 5) Carl Lundgren - Chicago (VG 3. Bold colors, evenly rounded corners, centered 25/75 L/R. Piedmont back). 6) Frank Smith - Chicago & Boston (VG-EX 4. Perfectly centered, with even wear to the corners, no creases, and flawless registration. Polar Bear advertisement on the back). All six are strong cards with outstanding eye-appeal. The T206 set is universally recognized as the premier tobacco-card issue of the 1910 era. This is a very attractive collection of six key rare cards from the highly prized T206 set. Total 6 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,528
