Circa 1888 to 1910-Era Nonsport Tobacco Cards, Cabinets, and Albums Collection (631 Items)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $1,880

Extremely substantial and eclectic collection of 631 nonsport tobacco items comprised of cards, cabinets, and albums from 1888 to 1910, including many highlights and representation from thirteen different issues. 1) 1888 N4 Allen & Ginter "Birds of America" complete set (50 cards): 19 cards range from Vg to Ex (averaging Vg-Ex), and 31 cards are Gd and slightly lesser (downgraded for writing, glue stains, or paper loss on the backs). 2) 1888 A4 Allen & Ginter "Birds of the Tropics" Album: Fair condition due to corner missing on back cover and pages stuck together (it appears that the pages can be carefully pulled apart). 3) 1889 A28 Duke "Heroes of the Civil War" Album: Front and back covers both have tears, paper loss, and creases, but the inside pages are fairly clean. A very presentable example of this rare and extremely popular tobacco-premium album. 4) 1889 N107 Duke "Fancy Dress Ball Costumes" complete set (50 cards): 45 cards range from Gd to Vg-Ex (averaging Vg), and 5 cards are slightly lesser grades. 5) 1890 N37 Allen & Ginter "Birds of America" (6 cards): Five cards grade Good, and one grades Fair. 6) 1890 N38 Allen & Ginter "Birds of the Tropics" (8 cards): Two cards grade Gd, and six are Fair. 7) 1890 N40 Allen & Ginter "Game Birds" (11 cards): Seven cards grade Gd to Vg, and four grade Fair. 8) 1890 N42 Allen & Ginter "Song Birds of the World" (5 cards): Three cards grade Gd, and two are Fair. 9) 1893-1894 N566 Newsboy Cabinet Photos (13 cabinets): Nine smaller size (4.5 x 6.5 inches): Actresses: #15 Manola (Gd), Clayton (Vg), Irving (gd-Vg), Russell (Gd), 332 Russell (1893 copyright, gray mount with green printing and an advertisement for Red Indian Tobacco on the back, Vg), 335 Naya (1893 copyright, gray mount with green printing and an advertisement for Red Indian Tobacco on the back, Vg), and 540 Russell (Gd).
