1975-1976 ABA (Dave DeBusschere) Basketball
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,528
Rare red, white, and blue official ABA basketball dating from 1975-1976, the league's season. The Rawlings "RSS" model ball features the ABA logo and the facsimile signature of commissioner Dave DeBusschere stamped on the front. DeBusschere only served as ABA commissioner during the League's final year, thus definitively dating the ball to the 1975-1976 season. All official ABA balls are scarce, but this particular one-year-only ball ranks among the rarest and is highly prized by collectors. This ball originates from the collection of Charlie Conlon. While Charlie is best known for his incredible baseball-card collection, he was also a huge basketball fan, so it was not surprising that we discovered this gem among his vast array of material. The panels, most noticeably the white ones, display a light degree of age toning and the ball remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,528
