1991 Rickey Henderson Oakland A's Home Jersey

Rickey Henderson Oakland A's home jersey dating to the 1991 season. The white knit jersey is lettered ‘Athletics’ across the front and features the number ‘24’ on both the left breast and reverse. ‘Henderson’ is lettered on the reverse above the number. All front letters and numbers are appliquèd in green on gold tackle twill. All reverse letters are appliquèd in solid green tackle twill. An Oakland A's ‘elephant’ patch appears on the left sleeve. Situated on the interior left front tail are a ‘Russell Athletic 42’ label and a flag tag reading "Set 1 1991." The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear, including slight puckering along the numbers and letters. Henderson batted .268 with 18 home runs, 57 RBI, and a league-high 58 stolen bases (the eleventh and final time he would lead the League in stolen bases) in 1991. Henderson retired after the 2003 season as the game's all-time leader in stolen bases (1,406) and one of only twenty-six players in history to have amassed 3,000 or more hits. Today, he is considered by many to be the greatest leadoff hitter in baseball history. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2009, his first year of eligibility.
