Circa 1925 Bob Meusel NY Yankees Game-Used Road Pants
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $2,938
Pair of New York Yankees flannel pants worn by star outfielder Bob Meusel. The grey road pants feature a button fly and display the name "Meusel R." chain-stitched in red along the waistband. Also located in the waistband is a Spalding label. The pants are all original, with no alterations, and display significant wear, including heavy soiling and a number of holes (primarily on the left leg). Bob Meusel joined the Yankees in 1920 and for the next ten seasons he was one of the most consistent run producers in the game. Meusel drove in over 100 runs on five separate occasions, including a League- and career-high 138 in 1925. A member of the team's legendary 1927 "Murderers' Row" lineup, he helped lead the Yankees to six pennants and three World Championships during his ten seasons with the club (1920-1929). Interestingly, Meusel is one of a small number of eligible players to retire with a lifetime average of .300 or better (.309) and not be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. LOA from Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $2,938
