Hall of Fame Signed Check Collection Including Herb Pennock and Jackie Robinson (6)

Collection of six checks, each signed by a Hall of Fame player, all of extremely high quality. 1) Jackie Robinson. Personal check, dated 12/23/57, made out to “Flair Lingerie” in the amount of $35.42 and signed “Jack R. Robinson” in blue ink (grading “10”). This check originates directly from Robinson’s family and is accompanied by an LOA signed by his wife, Rachel. 2) Herb Pennock. Bank check (National Bank and Trust Company of Kennett Square, Pa.) dated 4/3/43, made out to “Cash” in the amount of $25.00. Signed twice by “Herbert J. Pennock” in blue fountain pen (“9”): once on the front and again on the reverse in endorsement of the check. 3) Joe Sewell. Counter check (The First National Bank of Tuskaloosa, Alabama), dated 9/26/52, made out to the “Hammer Battery Co.” in the amount of $10.00 and signed “Joe Sewell” in blue ink (“10”). 4) Eppa Rixey. Personal check, dated 4/24/62, made out to “C + S B T Co.” (Central and Sub Bell Telephone Company) in the amount of $7.87 and signed “Eppa Rixey Jr.” in blue ink (“10”). 5) Bill Terry. Jacksonville Baseball Company business check, dated 9/8/59, made out to “Douglas Clayton c/o Eau Claire Baseball Club” in the amount of $214.31 and signed by “Wm H. Terry” in blue ink (“10”). Also signed by another team official. 6) Carl Hubbell. Personal check, dated 11/30/83, made out to the “City of Mesa” in the amount of $15.14 and signed “Carl O. Hubbell” in blue ink (“9”). All of the checks display normal bank cancellation stamps and/or perforations. Both the Rixey and Pennock checks display a single vertical fold (not affecting either signature); otherwise each check is in Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500.
