1938 Jackie Robinson Signed Pasadena Junior College Yearbook - Signed Four Times!

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $1,880.00

Prior to lettering in four sports at UCLA, Jackie Robinson attended Pasadena Junior College, where he starred on the diamond, hardwood, track, and gridiron. Presented here is an extraordinary 1938 Pasadena Junior College yearbook signed by Robinson four times on interior pages featuring his photo. Each “Jack Robinson” signature featured in the book has been scripted in blue fountain pen and grades “10.” The first signature appears on page 119 alongside his portrait image as a member of the varsity football team. The second signature appears on page 132 next to an individual photo of him as a member of the varsity basketball team. The third signature, on page 138, includes the inscription “Best wishes and loads of luck” and appears on an individual photo of him as a member of the varsity baseball team. The final signature, on page 149, is scripted atop his image in a group photo of the track team. Robinson was nineteen years old in 1938, thus the four signatures featured here are among the earliest known examples. The 307-page yearbook belonged to a classmate of Robinson’s and is filled with additional inscriptions addressed to “Henrietta.” The leather-bound book displays some general wear including minor separation along the spine, but the pages remain firmly bound and intact, and the yearbook display beautifully. This is an incredible and extremely historic four-times signed item from Jackie Robinson's earliest days as a star athlete. Very Good to Excellent condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $1,880.00
