1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug Billy Nash
Starting Bid - $300.00 , Sold For - $940.00
Graded EX 60 by SGC. Magnificent Mayo's example of legendary early Boston star third baseman Billy Nash. Nash was a consistent third baseman in Boston for eleven of his fifteen years in the majors, twice hitting 10 home runs (which was a big deal at the time). He later became player/manager of the Philadelphia club and is responsible for discovering legendary Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie. The card is bright and crisp, with exceptional contrast, and a small chip of surface paper loss in the upper left corner. The reverse is very clean with a very minor hint of edge wear along the top. Strong Mayo's Cut Plug Tobacco example of one of the 1890s' top stars. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $940.00
