1917 Roger Bresnahan Signed Official Yankee Transfer Document
Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $1,057.50
One-page official "Uniform Agreement for Transfer of a Player to or by a Major League Club" is flawlessly signed by Hall of Famer "Roger P. Bresnahan" ("10"), in his capacity as president of the Toledo Baseball Club, and also by "Jacob Ruppert" ("9") as president of the New York Americans. This official fully executed document memorializes the transfer of player Alex Ferguson from the Yankees to Toledo "for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars." Roger Bresnahan (1879-1944) is a very rare, early Hall of Famer signature. Fortunately, because he served as a baseball executive with Toledo, official documents signed by him in that capacity occassionally surface. This is an outstanding example in Near Mint condition. Dimensions: 8.5 x 3.5 inches folded, 8.5 x 14 inches unfolded. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,057.50
