1950s Milwaukee Braves Johnston Cookies and Spic and Span Complete Set Collection (3 sets)

Collection of three regionally issued sets (two complete sets, one partial set), dating from 1953 to 1957, featuring only Milwaukee Braves players. 1) 1953 Johnston Cookies Complete Set (25): One card was inserted in each box of cookies. Complete sets were also made available from Johnston Cookies through a premium mail-in offer. One card grades Ex-Mt, eighteen cards range from Vg-Ex to Ex including two Hall of Famers #10 Spahn and 21 Mathews, and six grade Vg. 2) 1954-1956 Spic and Span Complete Set (18): Complete set of all eighteen cards (4 x 6 inches) issued over a three-year period (1954-1956) by Spic and Span Dry Cleaners of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Eight cards range from Vg-Ex to Ex including Hall of Famers Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews; ten cards are Vg to Vg/Vg-Ex including Hall of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn (this may be Spahn’s most impressive looking card). 3) 1957 Spic and Span Partial Set (13/20): Very desirable partial set of thirteen cards (4 x 5 inches) issued in 1957, the year the Braves were World Champions. Missing the following seven cards for completion: Buhl, Covington, Haney, Logan, Mantilla, Schoendienst, and Trowbridge. Eleven cards range from Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt including Hall of Famers Hank Aaron and Warren Spahn, one card of Eddie Mathews is Ex, and one grades Vg (Andy Pafko). This is an extremely attractive collection of two complete sets and one partial set, featuring only Milwaukee Braves players, from the golden years of regional baseball-card issues.
